The Adelaide Turf Cricket Association Inc (ATCA) has enjoyed a long and successful involvement with cricket in this state since its registration with the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) on 26 October 1932.

The founding members of ATCA included Prince Alfred College, St. Peters College, Hawthorn, East Torrens Colts, Prospect Oval, Payneham, Prince Alfred College Old Collegians and St Peters College Old Collegians cricket clubs.

Of these founding clubs Payneham, Prince Alfred Old Collegians and St Peters Old Collegians remain as strong and loyal members of ATCA.

At the time of registration the clubs had registered a total of 120 members, this figure has grown substantially over the last 75 years to the current day affiliation of 51 clubs including the Adelaide Turf Cricket Umpires Association (ATCUA) and having close to 5,000 members involved.

How do I join the competition to play?

Our member clubs welcome new players and you should approach them directly. They located predominantly in the metropolitan of Adelaide.  More information about our clubs will be posted on our site soon. Please drop us a line via email if you would like to talk someone. We would be happy to point you in the direction of a club.

We have a fantastic umpire group and we welcome all comers.  Please contact david@turfcricket.com.au.

If you are new to Adelaide and have no connections to club cricket, then the best starting point is to consider your nearest club geographically and make inquiries about their program.  We provide Two Day, Limited Over, Women, T20 and Junior competitions.  All of which are graded and cater for the most skilled and competitive players, to the more relaxed and social grades.

Yes. The ATCA along with SACA organise Girls and Women’s Cricket Competition. More information is available here at their website.

Your local club will welcome you with open arms. If you are keen to work with the Junior programs, you will need a Working with Children Check. Cricket clubs provide a great environment for community and a sense of belonging. Don’t be shy – approach your local club and ask them for a job to do.
